My colleague, Colin, recently went off-roading with Land Rover at one of their official Experience Centres. Despite being a super lux SUV the new Range Rover Sport can really get up to some proper mischief.

Awesome, I love seeing newer Range Rovers getting tossed about! It must be a bit hair raising weeding through the trees with a car that expensive though. I like not worrying about body damage when I have my foot to the floor trying to get through an obstacle.

Nice writeup, and I LOVE that 2-wheel balance shot of the Sport.
Quick question - in the picture of the approach to the bridge, is that the front camera on the centre console display? Does it come on automagically when you're in 4-LO or do you need to select it?

That's because it finally has a proper chassis.

Cheers. It is the camera. You can select it come on. I had an Evoque for a week and you can set the screen to show any number of the onboard cameras. RRS is same

Thanks.
They have one of these schools in Montebello, QC - which is conveniently close to Montreal - but the prices are stiff. $250 for a 1 hour lesson, $400 for 2 hours, and $1200 for a 6-hour adventure dau. Plus, the Fairmount hotel is far from cheap.
They also do occaisonal Owner's Day events, but then I'd have to pony up the cash for my own Land Rover first.
For anyone who's interested, here's the North American site: http://www.landrover.com/ca/en/rr/exper…

while you are 100% right that they can...this is the only time they ever will.

Could this be any more land rover-ish? What a silly (but fun) and pointless obstacle.
Seriously, what is the point other than to make people go "woah, we are driving on a sea saw"

Yep. They KNOW it will be sold to people who will never off-road but they want to be able to sell it to people who WILL off-road. Land Rover must hate its customers sometimes.
I've been on similar courses with Mercedes and Porsche. Neither were as spectacular though
